An absolutely fabulous rock quartz crystal pendant from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This lovely piece is comprised of a single plaque of rock quartz crystal, which is fairly large in size. The crystal is rectangular shaped and has a convex back and faceted edges. Riveted into the center of the plaque is a lovely beetle made of a single hand carved lapis stone. The bug has 6 bent legs made of 14kt yellow gold and fine carved eyes and wings. The pendant has a wonderful 3-dimensional look with lovely detail throughout. Riveted into the top of the piece is a complimentary matching rock quartz crystal bail that has sterling silver rivets and a loop on back. It's a simply magnificent piece and would make any collection complete!
Measurements: The rock quartz crystal plaque measures approximately 1 3/8" long, is 1" wide and is about 3/4" thick from the back to front of lapis beetle. The bail measures approximately 3/4" tall and a little less than 1/2" wide. The overall length of the pendant is approximately 2".
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the crystal plaque or bail or to the lapis beetle. There is no damage to the gold legs or to the sterling findings.
